It’s For the Children

What do people mean by that expression?  Why is it brought up whenever someone wants to twist someone else’s arm?  The moment someone brings that up as a reason they should be pimp-slapped, put in chains and confined to a small cage as an exhibit.

Why are the children such a big deal?  Economically, they’re a drain on resources.  They don’t produce anything and they cost a lot in time and effort to maintain.

If it’s because they represent humanity’s future then those who proclaim that expression should be hung for the hypocrites that they are.  Few are calling for the end of the Federal Reserve or balancing the budget and living withing the country’s means.  Few are calling for the closure of military bases around the world.  Few are calling for the end to war.

How many of your children have died in government-sponsored wars?  They may not have been children at the time, but aren’t they always someone’s child?  Or maybe you don’t care about your children after they reach a certain age?  How many of your children, and their children, have you sold into slavery?

Your country is trillions of dollars in debt.  Trillions of dollars.  All that money is pledged on the ability of the government to extract it from the labor of its citizens.  You have sold your children into slavery.  And yet you claim to be concerned about the welfare of the children?

Maybe it’s more accurate to say that you only care about your children when they’re between certain ages.  Apparently, you don’t care about your children before they’re excreted from the womb.  And you don’t care about your children after the age of 18, when they’re old enough to be sent off to kill and die for a corporate interest.
