The George Zimmerman Trial Is Not About Justice

Thought-provoking article. “a young, athletic and hooded thug with lots of texting messages about guns, fighting and drugs, Trayvon Martin attacked George Zimmerman. While bashing the neighborhood watch volunteer’s brains out on the sidewalk the young thug was shot dead. ” That’s a very different portrayal of the incident than what’s been presented in the lsm [lame stream media] but it’s not an inaccurate portrayal. It’s a different perspective. From the pictures I’ve seen of Trayvon Martin he does look like a thug. Maybe he wasn’t. Maybe he was a sweet, loving child who just played the “gangsta” role because that’s what is hip in the black community. But ya know, the burden of proof is on one, if one chooses to dress and act like a thug, to show that one isn’t a thug.
I read an article the other day. The point was that George Zimmerman made the initial decision to follow Martin and so the consequences of all that followed were his responsibility and fault because they were the result of his initial actions. I call bullshit. Life is not some complicated mousetrap where one sets the ball in motion and after that everything that happens is a mechanical result of that initial action. Martin was an individual with free will also. He had a myriad of choices once he thought that Zimmerman was following him. He could have run home. He could have dialed 911 to report that someone was following him. Instead, he chose to confront Zimmerman and ultimately decided to attempt to kill him by bashing his head into the concrete. Martin’s decisions more directly lead to his death than Zimmerman’s actions did.
It’s interesting that the Zimmerman/Martin case is being discussed in terms of Black v White. Zimmerman may be 1/2 White. That depends on whether is father is a White whose family converted to Judaism or a Hebrew. But either way, he’s 1/2 non-White. Obama is 1/2 White. Why is he labeled as “Black” but Zimmerman is labeled as “White”?
