K-9 Officer laid to rest after dying from being left in hot car

Is the individual responsible for the dog going to be punished for killing it? If one of us “mundanes” had done the same thing, we’d be facing animal cruelty charges.

It wasn’t until I started to read the article that the headline made sense.  It was a dog, not a man.  I mean, I know cops are dumb animals, but I didn’t think they were that stupid.

Interesting that the dog is referred to as a K-9 Officer throughout the article.  The fact that that “officer” is a dog is mentioned incidentally.

Now, I’m all for different sentient species participating equally in society.  Chewbacca was a highly qualified co-pilot, after all.  But ffs.  The double-standard is obvious and insulting.  Their dog is an officer and deserving of a coffin and funeral.  Our dog is a piece of property, and fair game to be shot and killed for no reason.
