Toxin Found in Most U.S. Rice Causes Genetic Damage

The article is referring to arsenic. A while back I read an article that was discussing the high levels of arsenic in rice grown in ‘Murka. It allegedly had something to do with the fact that a lot of the rice grown in ‘Murka is planted in fields that were previously used to grow cotton. I don’t remember the details, but somehow arsenic is or was used in the cotton industry.

I can’t tell from the article if the high levels of arsenic found in rice are a ‘Murkan problem or a global one.
