I have to admit, I’m a bit ashamed about being a supporter of Bradly Manning.  I feel betrayed.  What the hell happened, and why did he just drop off the map?  I don’t blame him.  Heck, I’d probably do the same thing if I was in his position.

But just what the hell did happen?  One second he’s a fighter for freedom, willing to risk his life to let everyone know the crimes the US war machine is committing.  Then he’s a gay man who wants to be a woman. (Not that the two are necessarily mutually exclusive, but I raise my eyebrow at the change of focus.)

I think his time in solitary confinement with only the company of the cia and the nsa changed him.

If being a woman is truly what Manning wants then more power to him/her.  But why would anyone intentionally want to go from a handsome man to an ugly woman?

But talk about attacking the messenger to distract from the message!  It doesn’t matter what BM’s gender identity or preference is.  What matters is the actions he brought to light.
